Why is my pc slowing down

My computer runs slow when playing graphics intensive games. Symptoms are a low fps, and a lot of lag. I'm sure that the problem is not my internet connection, but is with the computer. But, yes get the background processes & programs down to free memory. I always run a gaming rig with a stripped down operating system to free up resources

This problem has been posted several times as early as 2015, but there seems to have been no remedy. We have fairly powerful computers (Dell XPS 8900 i7-6700 3.4 GHz 16GB RAM 2TB HDD), but after moving from our old computers to new ones, we still get massive slow down when dropbox is syncing.We literally upgraded our computers to fix this issue, to no avail. How to prevent Bluestacks from slowing down my computer Bluestacks is a good android emulator, but not suitable for laptops with less than 8/16GB RAM because it always runs in background.
